Dead Nuts Ink Machines

Quill Machine Shader

Dead Nuts Ink make everything by hand. No two machines will ever be exactly alike. None of the hardware on these machines is made with a CNC. The binding posts, vise screw, coil cores, and contact screw knob were all made at the Dead Nuts Ink machine shop on a manual lathe. The armature speed bars are made here on a manual drill press. Their springs are hand cut and shaped from raw blue spring steel stock.

Hand Made in the USA.

Every machine is a one piece casting made of ductile iron. The Quill Machine begins as the blank frame and are Hand Carved, oil blackened, and polished. Custom coils are hand wound by Steele Irons.

Machines run around 120hz unloaded, medium stroke with a soft hit.

Coil specs - 9-1/2 layer.
Zebra wood washers, 5/16" core diameter, 7/16" T-Top blackened cores, 8 coats of lacquer.
